3rd Biennial Children’s Literature Symposium Hollins U
The Pleasures and Problems of Pooh

Picture
The Symposium takes place on Zoom July 9-12.

Friday evening's session will be a Write-in/Draw-in led by the Mid-Atlantic SCBWI chapter.

The Girls' Literature Discussion Group that caps off the Symposium on Sunday afternoon will be reading Natalie Babbit's classic Tuck Everlasting.  Babbit has had an unusual path to becoming a writer; she attended art school and began as an illustrator for her husband's books.

This year, we will also hold our first art show, and this presents a unique opportunity for Pooh-inspired or Pooh-adjacent illustration assignments. If anyone decides to require a Pooh prompt in an art class, we can definitely save space for those students in the virtual show.
