Hello! My name is Jime Wimmer!

A little bit about me: I hold an MFA in Illustration from Hartford University and a BS in Art Education. I've been a part of SCBWI since 2005, starting in Pennsylvania, moving to Oklahoma, and now here in Georgia! I’m also the co-owner of WimmerStudios.com with my husband, illustrator Mike Wimmer.

My personal work is inspired by vintage illustrations, with a strong emphasis on "line" and traditional drawing, and I often combine it with digital coloring. I've been a full-time educator for 19 years and have focused on independent publishing while freelancing for other clients.

Illustration Awards and Recognitions:
  • 2026: Finalist, Martha's Vineyard Drawing Award
  • 2025: International Wizard of Oz Club Rob Roy MacVeigh Art Prize
  • 2025: Tomie dePaola Mentorship Portfolio Award, SCBWI
  • 2025: Society of Illustrators Los Angeles (Gold & Bronze Medals, Children’s Market)
  • 2024: Society of Illustrators Los Angeles (Gold Medal, Children’s Market)
  • 2024: American Illustration 43, Chosen Award
  • 2022: Finalist, Martha's Vineyard Drawing Award

I live in Savannah, GA, with my husband and one super adorable cat, Mina, but we escape to the Blue Ridge Mountains every chance we get to avoid the heat!

You can find me online at Prettylines.com or WimmerStudios.com and on social media: @wimmerswoods and @myprettylines, on facebook, and on linkedin

My Inspiration Board

I have a range of childhood favorite artists--from historically famous ones like Mucha, Rackham, Beatrix Potter and Waterhouse to lesser known ones like Olive Bailey, Evelyn Kelbish, Karen Milone...Illustrated books are a critical part of childhood and development, even more so for creative artistic children....
